FAWQC Golf Tournament

FAWQC is pleased to announce that our annual golf tournament will be held again at the Celebration Golf Club in Celebration, Florida on April 26, 2013. Join us for a great day of golf to raise money for FAWQC’s Environmental Education (E2) Endowment Fund. Last year, FAWQC gave over $10,000 in grants to schools to fund science education. In fact, FAWQC has given over $40,000 in grants to Florida schools since 2004.

This Robert Trent Jones (Senior and Junior) course is challenging for the hardcore golfer and fun for the occasional golfer. Registration will open at 8 a.m. The shotgun start will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Registration fees are $150 for a single golfer and $130 for each golfer if you register a foursome. In addition to the round of golf, each paid registrant will receive lunch at the awards banquet immediately following the tournament, 2 drink tickets, a t-shirt and a goody bag. You can also purchase "Cheater Bags" to help improve your chances for a lower score. We will also be raffling off a chance to win a cooler of cheer at the awards banquet.

If you would like additional recognition for your company, we have several sponsorship opportunities available on a first come, first served basis. Sponsors will be recognized at the tournament through signage.

FAWQC Awards

In 2011, the Florida Association for Water Quality Control founded two leadership awards to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the management of our water resources. The Association will be presenting our next class of FAWQC award winners at this year’s conference, June 12-14 in Naples Florida. Now it’s your turn to help FAWQC recognize the contributions of your colleagues. FAWQC will be presenting two awards this year. Numeric Nutrient Criteria (NNC) Rule Webinar – December 4, 2012

On December 4, 2012, FAWQC hosted a webinar on Florida’s Numeric Nutrient Criteria (NNC). Roger Sims of Holland & Knight, LLC and Winston Borkowski of Hopping Green & Sams provided an overview of the rule and a summary of results of the November 30, 2012 ruling by EPA on Florida’s NNC. FAWQC Fall Fest a Resounding Success!

Over 70 FAWQC members, colleagues and friends met on Wednesday, November 7th, 2012, at Yuengling Brewery in Tampa for an evening of networking, food, a tour of the brewery tour and samples of great beers from Yuengling. Thanks to our great event sponsors for helping out with the costs of the event. Proceeds from the event will fund FAWQC Environmental Education (E2) grants. E2 Fund Application

Applications for the 2012-2013 Grants are due by October 15, 2013. You can now complete an E2 grant application online. Additional information on the E2 Fund and a link to a application form in PDF can be found on the E2 Fund page.

FAWQC is a Florida Board of Professional Engineer Continuing Education Provider offering Area of Practice Courses for the period 06/01/06 - 05/31/13. Our provider number is Provider Number #0003334. We will offer up to 8 hours of CE for PE's for attending the 2013 conference.
