NNC Rule Workshop — NEW!

FAWQC is hosting the very first workshop on Florida's newly adopted Numeric Nutrient Criteria (NNC) rule. The workshop will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Waldorf Astoria Resort in Naples. The workshop will cover many aspects of the new NNC rule including rule implementation, data collection, documentation, and the site-specific alternative criteria (SSAC) provision of the NNC. The workshop instructors will include Mr. Daryll Joyner, Program Administrator for the FDEP, Dr. Tony Janicki of Janicki Environmental Consultants, and Winston Borkowski of Hopping Green & Sams. Seating for this workshop is limited. The cost is $75. If you are a paid registrant to the conference, the discounted cost to attend the workshop is only $20. FAWQC Awards

In 2011, the Florida Association for Water Quality Control founded two leadership awards to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the management of our water resources. The Association will be presenting our next class of FAWQC award winners at this year’s conference, June 13-15 in Naples Florida. Now it’s your turn to help FAWQC recognize the contributions of your colleagues. FAWQC will be presenting two awards this year. The Sam Zamani “Unsung Hero” Award and the The Wade Hopping “Leadership” Award. For more information and to cast your votes, please click here.

FAWQC Golf Tournament

The 2011 FAWQC Golf Tournament at the Celebration Golf Course was a huge success with 78 golfers and 26 sponsors working together to help fund FAWQC Environmental Education Grants. Based on the success of this year’s tournament, we have decided to do it again next year. With your support, we can encourage young Floridians to learn about Florida’s valuable water resources.
